[ grocery ] :: weekly deals at publix

It's a brand new week of grocery deals! Here are some of my picks for items that I'll be stocking up on. Go to Southern Savers to see other deals - maybe there is something you need on sale!

Publix: Weekly ad here. Whoo! Great deals for FREE pasta this week, and a ton of deals for food for $1 or less.

Every week, Publix publishes a "Penny Item" that is valid on the first day of their weekly sale. Here in the Metro Atlanta area, it's on Thursday for most stores. However, you do need the Penny Item coupon, located in the Living section of the AJC. (Note: sometimes the AJC has a $5 off Publix coupon, too!) So, in order to get the Penny Item for the week you need your coupon and you have to spend $10 in groceries before coupons. Easy-peasy!

This week's Penny Item is Publix White Bread, 20 oz, limit 1.No thanks, I'll pass (unless The Hubs begs me for it!).

Here are some of the items on my shopping list this week:

Buitoni Fettuccine or Linguine Pasta, 9 oz: $1.14 - use $1 off 8/4 newspaper coupon and $1 off Publix coupon here - use both and makes it FREE + $0.86 overage

Ronzoni Pasta, 9-16 oz: $0.74 - use $1 off 2 coupon here, makes it $0.24 each

Armour Meatballs, 14 oz: $2.49 - use $1 off 2 coupon from 8/18 newspaper, makes it $1.99 each
Smart Balance Spread or Spray, 7.5-15 oz: $1.84 - use $0.50 off coupon here or here, makes it $0.84

Green Giant Valley Fresh or Seasoned Steamers Vegetables, 11-12 oz: $1.29 - buy 3 and use $0.60 off 3 coupon here, makes it $0.62 each

Tuttorosso Tomatoes, Sauce, or Puree, 28-29 oz: $0.99 - use $1 off 2 coupon here, makes it $0.49 each

Jennie-O Ground Turkey, 20 oz: $3.99

Old El Paso Taco Shells, Tortillas, Refried Beans, Enchilada Sauce, or Taco Sauce: $1.25 - buy 3 and use $0.60 off 3 coupon here and $1 off 3 Publix coupon here, makes it $0.72 each

Red Raspberries, 6 oz: $2.50 - use $0.50 off coupon here, it doubles and makes it $1.50
Yoplait Yogurt, 4-6 oz: $0.50 - buy 6, use $0.40 off 6 coupon here, makes it $0.36 each
Pantene Pro-V Hair Care, 6.6-13 oz: Buy 3 Get 1 Free at $3.49 each - buy 4 and use 1 $1 off coupon here and $3 off 3 P&G newspaper coupon, makes it $1.61 each

Colgate Extra Clean Soft Toothbrush: $0.99 - use $1 off Publix coupon, Publix Health & Beauty Flier, makes it FREE

I'll be stocking up on the pasta, tomatoes, Smart Balance (Light), Old El Paso products, and yogurt for The Hubs. The raspberries are a great deal, and so are the Pantene Pro-V hair care items! I like the shampoo, so if it's included in the sale I'll grab a few. And the toothbrushes? Why not get some if they're free - I keep a few in my guest bathroom, and donate any excess.
