[ daily deals ] :: book + a movie

I'm on a roll this week with my reading! Yesterday, I ordered The Fault In our Stars by John Green (it should arrive tomorrow!). I noticed a deal at Target for the Divergent book series by Veronica Roth that is now being made into a movie. Can you tell that I like movies that are made from books? Although it is a book geared more for teenagers, I read this series last year and really enjoyed the first book Divergent. It's an easy read and the dystopian plot and action kept me turning the pages.

The paperback copy of Divergent is available at Target stores for just $7.99, and you also get $8 in Fandango Cash to see the movie when it comes out on March 21st! I think this is a really clever deal for a book and a free movie.

So why did I like this book? It's about a teenage girl who is smart, brave, and can kick some ass. I'm always a fan of a female protagonist - the heroine in this novel is no Katniss Everdeen, but she can definitely hold her own.

Oh, and don't tell anyone...but The Hubs liked this book, too. We'll be joining the teenagers at the theater to see Divergent when it is released. No shame.
