[ grocery ] :: the week in review

Thanks to making a meal plan, I saved big time at the grocery store this week. I got out of the habit a few weeks ago (we've been very busy) and am so happy that I'm back in a routine now! Check out the meal plan from last week here.

First up - Aldi! Grocery: $42.64. I grabbed a few more items than I needed for the week and was happy I did because I won't have to go to the store on Monday. We have enough food leftover to last at least until Wednesday. :) I love having one less thing on my to-do- list.

Next, I went to Target. With coupons in hand, I bought clementines, salad greens, beef stew meat, coffee, and got FREE bread. Grocery: $15.56. Retail: $29.83.

Finally, I sent The Hubs to Kroger for some milk and Parmesan cheese (not pictured). Grocery: $7.37. Retail: $8.27. He also picked up a few Cadbury eggs, but I'm not counting that in our grocery budget. Nope. No way.

Here's the damage:
Grocery: $65.57 Not to shabby, considering that this was 12 days of food and snacks for us! We went out to lunch twice this week (once for burgers, a second time at Studio Movie Grill with a gift card) but have food leftover in the pantry.
