[ grocery ] :: weekly deals at publix

It's a brand new week of grocery deals! Here are some of my picks for items that I'll be stocking up on. Go to Southern Savers to see other deals - maybe there is something you need on sale!

Every week, Publix publishes a "Penny Item" that is valid on the first day of their weekly sale. Here in the Metro Atlanta area, it's on Thursday for most stores. However, you do need the Penny Item coupon, located in the Living section of the AJC. (Note: sometimes the AJC has a $5 off Publix coupon, too!) So, in order to get the Penny Item for the week you need your coupon and you have to spend $10 in groceries before coupons. Easy-peasy!

This week's Penny Item is Publix Candy, limit 1. The Hubs is getting some candy corn (his seasonal favorite), and it will survive approximately 3.25 seconds in my house.

Here are some of the items on my shopping list this week:

Skippy Peanut Butter, 15-16.3 oz: $1.89 - use $1 off newspaper coupon, makes it $0.89  
A.1. Steak Sauce, 10 oz: $1.96 - use $1.00 off newspaper coupon, makes it $0.96
Lawry's 30 Minute Marinade, 12 oz: $1.49 - use $0.50 off coupon here, makes it $0.49
Quaker Instant Grits, 12 pk: $1.39 - use $1 off 2 newspaper coupon, makes it $0.89 each
Campbells' Chunky Soup: $1.39 - buy 2, use $0.50 off 2 newspaper coupon, makes it $0.89 each
Publix Frozen Vegetables, 10-12 oz: $1 

Ricola Throat Drops of Lozenges, 19-24 ct: $0.89 - use $1.50 off newspaper coupon, makes it $0.14 each
 
Brawny Pick-A-Size or Big Roll Paper Towels, 1 ct: $0.95 - use $0.55 off newspaper coupon, makes it $0.39
Purex Ultra Laundry Detergent, 36 ct or 100 oz: $4.99 - use $0.50 off newspaper coupon, makes it $3.99
 
Grape Tomatoes, 1 pint: $2
Bananas: $0.50/lb 

Publix Dog Treats, 6-10 oz: $1.67
