[ grocery ] :: weekly deals sneak peek

Is it me, or do the holiday grocery sales kind of stink? I always look forward to sales in January, when frozen veggies and "health conscious" foods are on sale. Anyway...

It's a brand new week of grocery deals! Here are some of my picks for items that I'll be stocking up on. Go to Southern Savers to see other deals - maybe there is something you need on sale.

Aldi: Weekly ad here. Remember: Aldi does not accept coupons, and you need to bring your own bags and a quarter! See my guide here. Get your holiday supplies now! I'll be getting a lot of crackers, cheeses, and dips for holiday entertaining.

Butterball turkey, 10-22 lb: $1.19/lb

Zucchini: $0.99 per 24 oz package
Red potatoes, 5-lb bag: $1.29
Baby carrots, 16 oz: $0.49
Grape tomatoes, 10 oz: $0.79
Sweet onions, 2 lb: $0.79

Happy Farms Cheese Blocks, 8 oz: $1.49
Friendly Farms French Onion or Ranch Dip: $1.29
Little Salad Bar Hummus: $1.99
Specially Selected Cheeses: $1.69-$2.99

Savoritz Six Cracker Assortment: $2.49
Savoritz Entertainment Crackers: $1.49
Clancy's Sea Salt Pita Chips: $1.99
Tuscan Garden Olives: $0.99

Kroger: Weekly ad here. Check for coupons on these items to save even more! Kroger is having a huge Mega Event sale - buy 10 items on sale and get $5 off. I'm just including the meat/produce on sale this week because there are too many items to choose from! Check out the weekly ad.

Kroger Boneless Chicken Breasts: $1.99/lb

Avocados: $1.00 each
Broccoli Crowns: $1.00/lb
Clementines (3 lb bag): $3.99
Kale, Mustard, Collard, or Turnip Greens: $0.99

Target: Weekly ad here. Check for coupons on these items to save even more! I started using the Target mobile coupons - you just text the code to the provided number and you get a link for coupons on your smartphone! The cashier scans the code and the savings are automatically applied. Cartwheel is also a really nifty way to save at Target - sign up, select your deals, and print out a special code to be scanned at the register. There are a lot of the same deals as last week!
