[ grocery ] :: weekly deals at publix

It's a brand new week of grocery deals! Here are some of my picks for items that I'll be stocking up on. Go to Southern Savers to see other deals - maybe there is something you need on sale!

Every week, Publix publishes a "Penny Item" that is valid on the first day of their weekly sale. Here in the Metro Atlanta area, it's on Thursday for most stores. However, you do need the Penny Item coupon, located in the Living section of the AJC. (Note: sometimes the AJC has a $5 off Publix coupon, too!) So, in order to get the Penny Item for the week you need your coupon and you have to spend $10 in groceries before coupons. Easy-peasy!

This week's Penny Item is Publix Hot Cocoa, 10 oz or 4 oz Sugar Free Cocoa, limit 1.

Sweet Potatoes: $0.79/lb
Publix Baby Carrots, 16 oz: $1.25
Grape Tomatoes, 1 pint: $2

Lean Cuisine Honestly Good Entree: $2.34 - use B1G1 coupon here, makes it $1.17 each

Smart Balance Spread or Spray: $1.84 - use $1 off Publix coupon here and $0.75 off coupon here, makes it $0.09

Sabra Hummus, 10 oz or 4 pk: $1.99 - use $1 off Publix coupon here, makes it $0.99

P&G Promotion Deal Idea: When you buy 3 select P&G items, you get a FREE rotisserie chicken! I will be purchasing...

(2) Tide Laundry Detergent, 50 oz: $5.99 - use (2) $2 off P&G coupons and (2) $1 off Publix Coupons (mail flier), makes it $2.99 each

(1) Gillette Disposable Razors: $6.49 - use $3 off P&G coupon, makes it $3.49
